Rev. Rodney Fitzgerald Hughes, MA, ARP, BFA
A Native of Louisiana and graduate of Pratt Institute School of Art and Design, Mr. Hughes has 25 + years of product development experience in the Fashion and Beauty sectors. He has been involve in Real Estate Investment and Retail Development, serving as Treasurer to the Malcolm X Merchants Association. He has served the Bedford-Stuyvesant community for many years as a merchant, block association president and organizer around entrepreneurial leadership.
On a global perspective, He has traveled to many countries for educational and professional exchange. While working as a Technical Engineer in Apparel Manufacturing he lead both domestic and global teams. These experiences have afforded him a unique perspective on how to lead and inspire diverse populations in entrepreneurship and social enterprise.
The important role that art and culture plays in economic development is the main focus of the work he endeavors. This work is inspired by his experiences and the impression left by a unique research project called The Orange Economy. Institut Therapeautate places a great deal of value on the creative gifts that most individuals take for granted. In these gifts lies the potential of economic freedom.
Mr. Hughes holds a Master of Arts in Interreligious Engagement from Union Theological Seminary. He is certified in Advanced Perfumery and Natural Perfumery & Cosmetics Formulation from Cinquieme Sens and ASFO-Grasse Institute of Perfumery.
